This tutorial uses SELECTIONS. So I've included a zipped file with all the supplies you need for the tutorial. Have fun!!! This tutorial uses PSP 7.04 Paint Shop Pro Supplies Selections and Tubes Drag and drop this arrow to keep up with where you are in the tutorial Unzip your file I've included, put the selections in your selection folder *where ever you keep them* and install your tubes into your tubes directory in your PSP folder. Create a new image 500x500..You can resize later,this bigger canvas gives you room to work. First add a new layer name it TOP, THEN go to selections- load from disk-topEnvelope.sel- fill with pattern of your choice.Then go to selections-invert-effects-drop shadow and apply these settings. Depending on what pattern fill you use,you'll have to determine what shadow color to use..its up to you. I've just used examples here.:-) ADD a new layer-Name it BOTTOM- Go to selections-load from disk- bottmEnvel.sel, fill with the same pattern you used for the top of the envelope. Go to selections-invert-effects-drop shadow. Same settings as you used for the top-select none Add a new layer-name it INSIDE-Go to selections-load from disk-insideEnvel.sel- Fill with a dark color that coordinates with your envelope color or pattern. Go to selections-invert-effects-drop shadow-same settings at the top and bottom of envelope except this time apply the drop shadow 3 times-select none. Your envelope should look like this. Be sure and SAVE your work as you go.. Would hate for you to loose it if something happened!! Add a new layer-Name it HEAD-Go to selections-load from disk- Head.sel-fill with flesh color. I used #F2CEB6-selections-invert-effects-drop shadow using these settings. #D77767 for the shadow color. Select None Next, New layer-Go to selections-load from disk-LeftArm.sel-fill with a pattern of your choice. While its selected go to effects-inner bevel using these settings. Use these bevel settings for ALL the clothes.OKKK...now..Load each one of these selections in this order, doing the bevel then INVERTING and drop shadow.. on EACH one..Making a new layer with EACH selection. You've just done the LeftArm, next is UnderDress, OuterDress, RightArm, Lefthand and Righthand. Apply each effect to each one of the selections on their own layer. except for hands do not use inner bevel on them. Just Invert and apply the drop shadow using the settings from before.When you get finished with those.. your girl should look like this..or close to it. You might have to arrange the layers where the body of the dress is UNDER the bottom of the envelope.where it looks like shes down inside it. Don't forget to SAVE often!!! Time to put on her hair, one of the tubes in the zipped file was CURL.Click your tubes tool and find the curl tube. This is where you can be creative,arrange your curls in what ever style you want.. Place a bow tub on her hair if you'd like. apply a shadow to it with these settings. Also you can put another bow on the front of the envelope.The tube was also in the zipped file. The flower tube is next, sprinkle them around. Remember to put them on their own layer..Apply a drop shadow to them also. OKKK.. now you need to HIDE all layers except for the girl parts..MERGE her layers...I.E. Dress, Head, Hair, Hands. Then apply a drop shadow using these settings.. Her cheeks are next. On a new layer, Set your airbrush tool to these settings,click one time for each cheek. Then go to effects-blur-gaussian blur and use these settings On a new layer go to selections- load from disk- Eyes.sel. fill with black then apply this inner bevel setting You can draw with free hand line, eyelashes if you'd like, also a mouth for her..using same line tool. Time to merge all visible layers add a background if you want, then apply a drop shadow around the whole envelope and girl, using these settings. YOUR DONE!!! Now that wasn't hard huh?
