Animation & Noise Effect

A tutorial on how to use the Noise effect and animate it.

~Thanks for stopping by!!~

For the background I used Fantastic Paint Engine. Link is below

*Fantastic Paint Engine*

Open a new image 300 x 300. You can either open your tube, copy & paste it into the new image OR you can use your tube tool and find a tube that you would like to use.

On your bottom layer *if there isnt one then ADD a layer* fill it with blue. Here I used #95A0B4.
Name the bottom layer Bkg and top layer,
tube or whatever the name of tube is.
Make sure your Bkg layer is the one selected on your layer palette, Go to Effects..Plugin filters and select your Fantastic Paint Engine.
I used the settings below.

Now for the tricky part :) Select your Lasso Tool and carefully go around whatever your wanting to add the noise to. Here it was the bow. You notice its in several places on the tube, so after your get the first selection done you hold down your Shift button and 'lasso' another part.
This keeps all selected at the same time with out having to do it separate.

When you get all you want selected, you go to your Layers palette and duplicate the tube layer. X out or Hide the top tube layer and making sure the bottom Tube layer is the one selected.

Go to Effects..Noise and Add..

On the bottom tube layer set your noise to 40%

On the top tube layer set your noise to 50%

Now duplicate your Bkg layer on your layer palette and drag one of the tube layers down to above the bottom Bkg layer.
Now you should have starting from the bottom,
Bkg,Tube,Copy of Bkg,Copy of Tube.

Palette should look like this.
X out or Hide the top two layers. You'll see the little glasses there on the layers palette. when the X is over them then the layer is hid.

Add a shadow to Each of the tube layers if you'd like. I used these settings.

Right click on the tube layer that isnt hid and Merge, Merge visible.

Hide the New Merged layer and Un hide the top 2 layers. Right click on the top tube layer and Merge, Merge visible.
You should have 2 Merged layers now.. If you dont.. Undo :)

Time to open your Animation shop now. Were going to be going back and forth to each for a min...While still in PSP, have the bottom merged layer on the palette selected, go to Edit and click Copy.
Now go to Animation shop and go to Edit and click Paste as New animation. Back to PSP and select the top Merged layer and go to Edit and Copy again

Back to Animation shop and right click on the frame and select paste after current frame

You have two frames there *you can view the animation by clicking your button*..... you can save as in gif format now.

Back in PSP you can get delete the graphic we were working on. Its not needed any more.

Hope you enjoyed this tutorial. If you have any questions, drop me a line.
