HELLO,
A friend ask me if I would do a tutorial on Text on a Path, Sooo here it is :)
It requires that you have a working knowledge of your PSP tools.
I'm using four examples... Text on Belzer Curve, Text on a Freehand line, Text on Point to Point line & ellipse.

Norma's Creations~~~~Text on a Path ~~~~~

Lets start with a new image 400 x 400.
Click on your Draw Tool and set the tool options like the sample below.
We're working with a Belzer curve first.
Have your Antialias and Vector boxes checked. Click on the left side of your graphic and hold down your mouse button while you pull the 'line' to the right then let up on your mouse.

Put your cursor on the left end of the line and begin to pull up about 2 inches, you'll notice the line moves up a little.

Click on the right end of the line and pull up. Your line should start arching up. You'll see it curve. The higher you pull, the higher the arch. Stop when you get it arched like you want. Then click off the graphic on the desktop somewhere.

It should look like this once you click off the image

Click your TEXT tool and position your pointer over the arched line. You'll notice the cursor turns into an A with a rocker underneath. If you dont see that and click, then your text will not be on the curve, it will just be straight. Might take you a few trys before you get this.. I know it did me!! *S*

When your text box pops up, choose your font & colors you'd like.
If you notice as your type the words, they form to the curve.

Now then, on your layers palette it has the layer that the belzer curved line and the text is on..they're VECTORS.~really on same layer~ Click on the + sign to the left. The Belzer curve line will drop down, X it out or hide it.
In the finished Text we don't want to have that line where its showing. Once the Belzer line is X'd then you right click on the text layer *right above that* and click on Promote to layer.
As you'll see in the next two screen shots below.

Your layer palette should just have two layers now. Text layer on a transparent layer, which you can fill with color of your choice.

These next text on a paths are done pretty much the same way as this fist one I went into details with.
The ONLY difference is in the TOOL OPTIONS in your DRAW tool, you either click BELZER CURVE, POINT TO POINT or FREEHAND.

OK.. second verse... same as the first! LOL..
This time, in your tool options to your you choose your FREE hand. Draw your free hand line how you want it.

I've cut corners on this because you use the same steps as the belzer curve above. Click on your Text tool and position the cursor over the drawn freehand line.
The text box pops up and your type what you'd like on the line. Choose the colors & the font.
On the layers palette you click the + on the side of the text layer and you'll see the Free hand line X it out and hide it..then right click on the text layer and promote to layer.

That was easy huhhhhhhh??!!??? *S*

Ok... repetious I know, BUTTT...With this effect you can put text around a shape of a for instance Tube etc.
After you click your Choose Point to Point, making sure Vector is selected.

I started at the bottom and put the first 'point' and moved along the edge of the graphic tube. When you reach the end of where ever you want it to END, you click the desktop somewhere.. and the line is drawn.

Select your Text tool put the cursor on the line you've drawn. Notice the A with the rocker underneath it.
Text box pops up and you choose the font & color and type your message.

The words conform to the shape of the object.. which looks pretty cool!!!!

On layer palette your click the + and hide the point to point line then right click on the text layer and promote to layer.
Uh huh.. yada yada yada..*S*

FINISHED!!!

This Text on path is lil different than the others. You click on your PRESET shape TOOL and in Tool Option box you set the settings like below.
Set your foreground color to black and the background color box to NULL.

Click your Text tool and put your cursor over the circles line just like for the other text effects instructions.
When the text box comes up.. type your words..

Just like in the Belzer curve instructions you hide the line *this case the ellipse* and right click on the text layer and promote to layer.

DONE DONE DONE!!!
This text effect can be used in many ways... SKYS THE LIMIT!!
